Dog Friendly Holiday: Seaglass, Whitsand Bay, Cornwall

I’m always keeping an eye out for luxury dog friendly holidays, which I make a mental note of and stow away for a time I’m ready to book a getaway. I’m a big fan of the staycation, and that’s only amplified now I have a dog who can tag along.

Living in a big city, Bruce doesn’t get as much of an opportunity to have a good run and romp about as much as I would like. The thought of heading off to a more secluded location, letting him race along a beach, swim in a lake or have an adventure in the countryside makes my heart sing, and I can’t imagine how happy Bruce would be to have the freedom of a wide open space to explore.

On the top of my dog friendly holiday wishlist is is Seaglass in Whitsand Bay, Cornwall. A luxurious beach hut overlooking the sea, Seaglass is stylish, chic and happy to accommodate up to two dogs. This is definitely a couples retreat, with just one king sized bedroom, a hot tub and uninterrupted romantic views. The location is secluded enough to feel like you are in a world of your own whilst being close enough to amenities to stop you feeling stranded.

The coastal path on your doorstep will lead you straight down to the sandy beach, where dogs are also very welcome at all times of the year. On arrival, a welcome hamper awaits full of wine, cheese and crackers, olives, cookies, chocolate, chutney, bread and cake. Of course, the hounds are well taken care of too. A kennel and dog bowl is provided, and you can order a ‘pampered pooch’ gift hamper for an extra supplement.

Seaglass is a cornish retreat by the sea which has shot up to the top spot in my ‘must visit’ list and I’m hoping that we’ll make a trip there in 2016, so Bruce can frolick by the water’s edge and see what the rural life is like, and I can enjoy that sea air while I sip prosecco on the deck. Who’s with me?
